Holiday Greetings, Crazy Dancers and More

Donations: I want to begin this update with a heartfelt thank you to Rocco, a guide dog in training, and his parents for their generous donation to buy school supplies for four very poor schools.  This year I will buy the supplies in Zihuatanejo from a wholesaler.  It is the cheapest way to get the right supplies to the schools.

Even though this is the absolutely worst week of the year to ask for donations, I could still use some financial assistance.  I absolutely promise not to ask again for any donation.  But if the season of giving moves you, anything would be appreciated.  Please send cash, check or money order to Bill Bradley, 3650 Morning Star Drive, #2402, Las Cruces, NM, 88011.

A special picture with your name in it will be taken at the store in February to acknowledge your donation.  The pictures will be posted here in March.

Holiday Celebration: Because this is the holiday season and so many of you have been so generous in the past, Bernabe and Lizbeth, my little 7th grade friends from Zihua, have joined with me to present to you this holiday dance choreographed in the finest of Disco traditions.  While responses in the comment section are generally gratefully received, cheap shots about my dancing abilities may be deleted!  So click on the “The Disco Gringo” link below  and enjoy 55 seconds of the newest and hottest YouTube video in existence (and if you are inclined to increase your enjoyment, click on the icon on the lower right of the video and view full screen)  … and Feliz Navidad, Happy Holidays and a Healthy New Year to all of you from me and all the children you have helped over the past three years.

Update on Karen: As regular readers know, I am sponsoring Karen as she attends the Business School at the University of Guadalajara.  She has just completed her third semester.  Many of you have shown a keen interest in her progress.  She continues to be at the top of her class and as before all her grades are in the “A” range.  None of her classes are easy.  I feel like a proud papa!  Here are this semesters results (90 and above is in the “A’ range):

Workshop on Group Strategies and Teamwork: 100
Public Relations and Communication: 100
Law II: 100
Professional Ethics and Social Values: 100
Total Quality Management: 95
English – No grades, she has worked up to Level 9

If you care to encourage Karen some more, please leave a message for her in the comment section below.

Book Report: Tomorrow I send off to my editor the final chapter in Journey to Zihuatanejo: From Visitor to Volunteer.  I will have copies in my hands in February.

Hasta proto amigos.  Memo

  1. This video brought a smile to me. I remember when we played badminton you were a very good player, the best one I have ever played with. Your moves a graceful. A quote from unknown author “To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more beautiful, more powerful. This is power, it is glory on earth and it is yours for the taking.” Feliz Navidad and Happy Holidays for you & your family & friends
